Growth hormone is a protein hormone found in humans and animals. It consists of 190 amino acids, which are synthesized and then secreted by cells in the anterior pituitary.
Understanding the Physiologic Effects of Growth Hormone, you must first know that the growth hormone has two diverse types of effects.
These two effects are:
- Direct Effects
- Indirect Effects
Direct effects are the product of growth hormone fastening its receptor on target cells.
Indirect effects act as a go-between mainly by an insulin-like growth factor-I known as IGF-I that is a hormone that seeps from the liver and other bodily tissues to the growth hormone.
