Effects on Growth
Human Hormones of course affects the way in which a person grows and develops. It is a very complex process that is not accomplished by just one hormone acting only; it is the group effort of several hormones.
The main role of the growth hormone is to
- Stimulate the liver
- Stimulate other body tissues
When the growth hormone stimulates these tissues they secrete IGF-I.
This then stimulates:
- The production of Cartilage cells
- The production of myoblasts
- The segregation of myoblasts
- Amino acid uptake
- Protein synthesis in muscles
- Protein synthesis in other body tissues
With all of these working together, all parts of our body can grow properly.
